Provider Relations Specialist
JOB SUMMARY:
A Provider Relations Specialist is responsible for identifying and/or calling on referral sources, current or potential, to market the Agency’s home health care services.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
-
Prior home health marketing or sales experience preferred.
-
Medical knowledge/terminology required.
-
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
-
Prior experience with EMR, Outlook, Word strongly desired.
-
The ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision strongly desired.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Develops, implements and demonstrates active participation/effectiveness in meeting monthly and quarterly sales goals.

Proactively works with the sales team to develop new business. Exhibits a professional team approach and is willing to work as a member of the sales team.

Implements and monitors account activity to ensure appropriate action is being taken to develop and maintain relationships.

Establishes and maintains relationships with referral sources such as physicians, hospitals, case managers, long-term care facilities, and assisted living facilities.

Demonstrates initiative and creativity in marketing activities as well as with established account knowledge.

Educates referral sources on the components of home health services and explains the interrelation of each of the services to referral sources.

Serves as a liaison between the Agency and physicians, hospitals, case manager, long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities and all other referral sources to identify healthcare needs and assist in meeting those needs.

Exhibits proper pre-call planning, scheduling, consistency in sales calls, appropriate and effective work ethic.

Demonstrates effective sales presentation skills, rapport building and sales skills.

Communicates frequently with each referral source to ensure that the expectations of the referral source and the needs of the patients are being met.

Assists in identifying and resolving any issue, dissatisfaction or problem that the referral source is experiencing with the Agency’s various services.

Evaluates continually the Agency’s marketing strategies and advises management on effective strategies.

Works closely with Branch staff to coordinate necessary services for patients and to promote communication between staff and the referral source.

Delivers orders to physician’s offices for signature (as appropriate) and ensures timely return of such orders in according with Agency policy and procedure.

Achieves the established number of required daily sales calls.

Documents daily sales activity as required into the Agency Referral Account Management Software.

Submits petty cash reports, timesheets, marketing plans, and all other documentation as requested/required.

Observes confidentiality and safeguards all patient related information.

Completes all in-services programs as required annually.

Serves as a role model for all colleagues by setting an example of high standards in dress, conduct, cooperation, and job performance.

Accepts responsibility for regular attendance and punctuality.

Follows the direction of the Director of Marketing Services at all times and is supportive of all company policies and procedures.

Performs other job duties as assigned.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Works indoors in Agency office and in physician clinics and other health care facilities and travels to/from physician clinics and other facilities.
